Why Indigenous Understanding Belongs at the Centre of Newcomer Integration
Multiculturalism, Community Inclusion & Civic Participation
Shared Learning with Real People
This program advances belonging, intercultural understanding, and meaningful community participation by creating inclusive spaces where diverse communities can connect, learn from one another, and contribute to shared community life.
Through cultural engagement, storytelling, dialogue, civic participation, and collaborative community initiatives, the program promotes social cohesion, cultural appreciation, and stronger relationships across communities. Activities within this program support newcomers, racialized communities, families, youth, and residents in building connections, strengthening community identity, and participating actively in civic and social life.
