About the Paths to Belonging: Land, Culture & Community

Paths to Belonging: Land, Culture & Community is a community-based cultural engagement project that brings together people of diverse backgrounds to celebrate multiculturalism, explore shared experiences, and strengthen connections across communities. Through cultural activities, artistic expression, community dialogue, wellness-focused engagement, and collaborative learning opportunities, the project creates welcoming spaces where participants can connect, learn from one another, and contribute to a stronger sense of belonging.

The project recognizes that vibrant communities are built through participation, understanding, and mutual respect. By creating opportunities for intercultural exchange and community involvement, participants are encouraged to celebrate their identities while discovering the diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives that enrich Canadian society.

Through creative activities, cultural celebrations, team-based experiences, and community engagement opportunities, the project promotes inclusion, cross-cultural understanding, and active participation in community life. Goal 1

Promote Appreciation and Celebration of Canada's Cultural Diversity

Create opportunities for participants from diverse cultural backgrounds to share traditions, experiences, artistic expressions, and perspectives while celebrating the rich multicultural fabric of Canada. Through music, dance, cultural engagement activities, and community participation, the project will foster mutual understanding, respect, and appreciation among community members.

Encourage Active Community Engagement and Civic Participation

Inspire participants to contribute positively to their communities through collaborative activities, dialogue, and shared learning experiences. By creating opportunities for interaction and community involvement, the project will strengthen social cohesion and encourage ongoing participation in local cultural and civic life.

Strengthen Community Connections and Foster a Sense of Belonging

Advance Cross-Cultural Learning and Intercultural Dialogue
